QA and CPD

We’re proud of our Quality Assurance and Continuing Professional Development programmes. We believe that they are central to providing innovative, relevant training at the leading edge of the profession.

Quality Assurance

Day-to-day QA: On every course, participants are asked for their feedback. We take these comments very seriously, and ask that they are passed on to us via the online collated feedback form so that the whole trainer team can benefit from individual trainers’ experiences.

Tutor Visits: All our trainers will benefit from a training review by a Remote Emergency Care Tutor no less than once every two years. The Tutor will provide a written report, including comments on content, delivery, client care and style elements. The Tutor will also be able to advise on Continuing Professional Development planning and trainer progression.cpd diary

Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential for every trainer. To underline this, we mandate that trainers complete a minimum amount of CPD in order to maintain their Remote Emergency Care status. Our CPD programme is available here, however trainers may also choose to participate in CPD outwith the Remote Emergency Care programme.

What classes as CPD will vary from individual to individual depending on their personal development needs: We recognise a broad range of development activities as CPD – please email the Remote Emergency Care Tutors to ask if your CPD plans will count towards your Remote Emergency Care CPD total. Examples of CPD activities include:

  • Remote Emergency Care trainer seminars
  • Medical training courses or conferences
  • Trainer training
  • Outdoor activities training
  • Research activities
  • Work experience or job shadowing
Trainers will be awarded between 1 and 5 stars on their trainer profile, depending on the amount of CPD they have completed during the last 12 months. One star is awarded for each 8 hours of CPD completed. This allows the public to make an instant assessment of the trainer’s CPD activity.
