Jay has served in the British Army, the private armed-security industry, as a fire-fighter and as a fire service training instructor. He has operational experience as a FPOS trauma technician, Swiftwater rescue technician and in SAS Casualty Management. A former Corporal, Jay has been instructing professionals from the age of 19.
He has also devoted time to helping mentally and physically disabled people get out and about in the fresh air and has worked with youths in helping them gain basic qualifications. Both his personal life and careers have taken him around the globe, through rainforests, up glaciers, across deserts and to the depths of the sea. Jay was in the outdoors as soon as he could walk and now lives in Scotland to be closer to the wilderness.
